FDA STEPS UP INSPECTIONS
Federal regulators were laying out plans to inspect the facilities
where 80 percent of the country’s eggs are produced, after issuing
reports on the investigation of a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak
that has sickened nearly 1,500 people.
FLORIDA TO RESTORE WATER QUALITY
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) directed the state
of Florida to take specific measures to restore water quality to
levels that protect the Everglades. This action, known as an
“Amended Determination,” complies with a decision by Judge Alan
Gold of the U.S. District Court – Southern District of Florida
following lawsuits by the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians and the
Friends of the Everglades.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S.
